In the fascinating world of celebrity weddings where some of the nations’ most noted personalities are involved, the wedding of Nithiin Reddy and Shalini are held on a grand scale to say the least. 16th July 2020, saw Telegu star, Nithiin Reddy marry his girlfriend of a few years, Shalini Kandukuri in the presence of their closest relatives and friends. It was an intimate lockdown wedding. Well, known wedding planner, Minttu Sarna was in charge of planning and executing the classy event which also reflected the couple’s unique individual personalities.


Though initially, Nithiin was planning to get married in Dubai on 12 April, instead, he postponed his wedding due to the Covid 19 pandemic. He rescheduled the festivities and chose his own farmhouse and the Taj Falaknuma Palace to host the events. The first amongst these to kick off the celebrations was the ring ceremony held on 22 July at Nithiin’s farmhouse. There was nervousness, excitement and anticipation in the air. The themed event was majestic and artist Raja Ravi Varma was the inspiration behind it. For the special event, Shalini first chose a lotus pink lehenga designed by Vaishali Agarwal. She later changed her attire and looked beautiful in a stunning red saree by fashion designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She pulled off the look splendidly with a kamarbandh and choker set made of diamonds and emeralds. Nithiin dressed in a lovely cream kurta for the ceremony. Soon after he shared a picture of his engagement ceremony with his fans on social media titled, ‘And ENGAGED.’


Next came the Mehendi function and Minttu Sarna made it a colourful affair. He achieved the feat by decking up the venue with bold prints, colourful flowers and fruits and unusual props. Monstera leaves and palms decorated almost every surface. And it was in this setting that the groom looked handsome in an electric blue attire while the bride shone brightly in her red coloured Shantanu and Nikhil dress. Her Mehendi makeup was done by Afsha Rangila and Jigna Mehta. The couple posed happily for pictures and there was much celebration in the air. 


As the final day dawned, it began with the traditional Haldi ceremony. For this function Shalini wore a soft mauve coloured silken saree with temple jewellery and a long braid adorned with flowers. 


The all-important wedding ceremony was hosted at the Taj Falaknuma Palace’s Durbar Hall. The event was attended by an exclusive and illustrious set of people known to the couple. They were spellbound seeing the extremely beautiful fusion floral fantasy theme in the colours of pink and mauve created and put together by Minttu Sarna’s team. Nithiin wore a splendid embellished red sherwani and Shalini wore a beautiful red and cream silk saree along with ornate jewellery. Tamanna Rooz, Hyderabad based make-up artist gave Shalini a warm glowing look with smokey bronze eyes and full red lips.

Nithiin is the son of well-known producer, Sudhakar Reddy and has an excellent standing in the Telegu film industry. He is best recognized for his hits ‘Chal Mohan Ranga’ and ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’. In an interview, the actor revealed that he did not want to propose to his girlfriend the usual way by showering her with rose petals and going down on one knee. Instead, he chose to do so by standing on one leg to make the memory a funny, fun-filled and unique one. The result was of course a positive one and that Shalini laughed out loud was a bonus. Undoubtedly memories of it will always bring a smile on the lips of the now-married couple.
