The weddings of southern stars are a great extravaganza in itself, and the wedding of southern star and producer Niharika Konidela and Hyderabad-based techie Chaitanya JV was no exception. The event was studded with the presence of several other famous southern stars; notable among them was Chiranjeevi and Allu Arjun. The wedding was held at the royal venue of Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur on the 9th day of December. That particular Wednesday was the talk of the town and took the social media by storm, as the famous guests started to arrive one by one.
The engagement announcement
The couple had been engaged in August, and the festivities had started at her Hyderabad home. The celebrations lasted for quite a few days and were filled with revelries and joy. The social media was set abuzz with the posts of Naga Babu, the father of the bride. He also belongs in the film fraternity and is an accomplished actor-producer in his own right.
The posts were heart-warmingly beautiful with pictures of the bride with his famous uncle, the megastar Chiranjeevi, as well as the rest of the family. In one of the pictures, the bride was oozing beauty and radiance with a stunning blue saree and ornate gold jewellery, an image of the quintessential south Indian bride.
The Sangeet ceremony
The social media were abuzz with the upcoming Sangeet ceremony, as the delightfully captioned posts by the bride and her father made the rounds of social media. Especially among the invitees was the famous actor Allu Arjun, who came by chartered flight and started the buzz going. The glamorous function started in the evening and was brimming with gorgeous décor, dreamy lights, and stunning performances.
The bride Niharika Konidela looked absolutely stunning in a deep teal couture piece by Shantanu and Nikhil, complete with a chic sleek hairdo and dazzling diamonds; while the groom shined in an embroidered Sherwani with ivory overtones designed by Kunal Rawal. The party reached its apex with the couple dancing to the songs of their uncle. The guest celebrities looked happy and were enjoying the festivities to the fullest with their families.
The mehndi ceremony
The mehndi ceremony was a quaint affair with Niharika Konidela donning a stylishly designed lilac gown, which was replaced by an equally vibrant and exquisite colourful lehenga by Aisha Rao. Her flowing curls were beautifying her feminine aura and at the same time, flawlessly presented her quirky side. The Mustard Bandi assembly donned by Chaitanya perfectly complemented the brides’ arrangements.
The Haldi program
The final day began with a poolside haldi with the sun shining on the bride and groom. The radiant couple wore matching yellow ensembles. The mangalsnanam or holy bath ceremony was filled with fun-filled atmosphere and mischief by the relatives, where everyone laughing as they got doused with water.
The Wedding ceremony
The wedding ceremony was as traditional as any south Indian wedding. Niharika was looking beautiful and just the prettiest South Indian Bride in a red and gold Kanjeevaram pattu coupled with an embroidered green blouse with intricate gold embellishments. The gold jewellery was of traditional design and make, which were the perfect accompaniment to her serene and blushing look. Her getup was perfectly complemented by muted makeup and the classic flower in the hair.
Chaitanya was as usual just the greatest complement to her bride with a beautiful and stunning copper and gold Sherwani. This ensemble was also looking gorgeous along with the gold saree the bride later wore. The joy and happiness of the bride and groom were evident in the smiling pictures shared in the social media by the relatives. The tight-knit family atmosphere and the camaraderie were palpable in the smiling faces and twinkling eyes of the relatives.
The reception ensemble
After the joyous festivities in Udaipur, the couple returned to Hyderabad and held a grand reception for their friends and family. Chaitanya was looking simply dashing with an Ice blue Kurta and Sherwani for the celebrations. But, it was Niharika who was just the vision of poise and grace in a crystal moss-green tulle lehenga with pearl embellishments, sequins, and a beautiful power trail. This exquisite Manish Malhotra creation was the centrepiece of the event and was liked by everyone.
