Bollywood Actor Varun Dhawan and his partner, Natasha Dalal tied the knot of marriage. The couple chose Alibaug for their wedding rituals and to celebrate their special day.

The Mansion House, Alibaug

 Bollywood star Varun Dhawan and his partner Natasha Dalal, whose wedding was to be detained in Khao Lak, Thailand, last took place in Alibaug for their long-awaited intimate nuptials. The Mansion House Alibaug, a 25 room lavishness property owned by the Ghai family (Hoteliers and promoters of Kwality ice cream) close to the Mandwa Jetty was a major venue for the marriage.

The entire celebration and rituals were organized considering the intimate feel and a big-fat wedding. The focus on safety and adherence to Covid-19 norms was considered well in the entire marriage functions. Reportedly we have got the information that, Ravi Ghai, the Chairman of the selected venue is a close friend of the Dalal family. Gaurav Ghai, the Co-Chairman and the team at The Mansion helmed by Sumita Ghai (who arranged and managed the decoration) and Romil Ratra, the CEO with the entire band at Intercontinental Marine Drive ensure the lavish and comfortable wedding arrangements that stay as one of the most mesmerizing affairs. On the other hand, the Shaadi Squad, the wedding planners selected by the duo, ensured everything stays smooth and well organized also curved the site into an absolute fortress with a vast group of bouncers and guards.

Mumbai to Alibaug

 There was great enthusiasm at the Mumbai Airport, as various celebrities and stars were travelling by RORO ferry service and the speed boats. At Mandwa jetty the wedding visitors were greeted by a vast number of locals. A couple of the guests together with the groom Varun Dhawan reached Alibaug by road only.

The functions

 The first day was the intimate family dinner with the bride and her family and some members of the groom’s family whilst Varun and his closest friends celebrated the party at a villa nearby. The celebrations started with the Mehendi functions where the dress code was ‘Indian festive’. The lavish food spread included an open-air bbq section with live grills, an Italian kitchen with an Italian chef who was doing fresh pizzas, pasta a la carte and a burrata bar. A cold counter that had salads and also a mezze bar. The Mansion House also curated a special local Alibagh coastal food experience menu with locally sourced fresh-caught seafood and regional specials.

The theme of Sangeet was ‘magnificent yet formal’ with Asian starters and an involved break Indian and Asian dinner.

Day 3 started with the Haldi ceremony. The dining was a Mexican fiesta with an expat chef preparing live dishes. Also on the menu was an extensive Middle Eastern collection with mezze and shawarma. And a selection of classic Indian for elders. Decor designer Sumita Ghai dressed the venue magnificently. 

Natasha and Varun wore coordinated ivory outfits for the pheras. It has been said that Natasha designed her lehenga with hints of gold and silver embroidery, whereas Varun wore a heavy ivory sherwani by Manish Malhotra with a hint of powder blue.

After the wedding rituals Pheras, the couple stepped out to pose for the media who were apprehensively waiting to photograph them. Since it was a tiring day for the hordes of Photographers who couldn’t even take photos of B-Town guests, the family made dinner arrangements and some of them acknowledged the humble wave on social media platforms as well.

The banquet incorporated carefully curated appetisers and several regional delicacies, including a live Singapore style hawker plaza station, a classic Ramzan inspired keema kaleji and lamb chops tawa station. The Indian selections were stirred by the kitchens of erstwhile Indian royal families and included dishes such as gucchi pulao and nalli nihari among others. Desserts such as winter carrot halwa with pistachios & rum-soaked raisins, baked candied rose petal stuffed gulab jamuns, classic tiramisu, and Eton mess.

afterwards, everybody changed into party attire to proceed to the party room of The Mansion House where the party continued.

Natasha and Varun

Natasha is the daughter of accessories designer Camelia Dalal and businessman Raju Dalal. Natasha stays in Juhu, extremely close to Varun’s residence where they both did schooling at Maneckji Cooper in their surrounding area. After that Natasha chose a career in fashion, and now runs her own design house by the name of ‘Natasha Dalal Label’ with a store in Bandra. Her mother Camelia along with her business partner Shelina Kukar retails accessories. Varun Dhawan live in Juhu with his father David Dhawan, mother Lali Dhawan, brother Rohit Dhawan and sister-in-law Jaanvi Desai Dhawan.
